Causas de mortalidad del petirrojo. La incidencia de los atropellos.

The causes of mortality of 503 robin (Erithacus rubecula) recovered in Spain during 10 years were investigated, being only 6% due to collision with cars. Seasonal mortality attributed to this cause peaks at the beginning of the wintering season. This rate, calculated from ringed animals, is much lower than reported in other studies, probably because of methodological differences.

Se investigaron las causas de mortalidad en 503 ejemplares de petirrojo (Erithacus rubecula) recuperados en España durante un período de diez años, siendo únicamente el 6% de los casos por causa de las colisiones con coches. La mortalidad estacional atribuida a esta causa muestra picos al principio de la estación invernante. Esta tasa, calculada a partir de animales anillados, es mucho menor de lo que ha sido citado en otros estudios, probablemente por diferencias metodológicas.
