Changes in otter Lutra lutra distribution in Central Spain in the 1964–1995 period.

The partial recovery of the otter (Lutra lutra) in central Spain is explained by immigration from surrounding areas. Being migratory movements so important for otter distribution, physical barriers (mountains) and human population (cities) can be decisive factors limiting its movements.

La recuperación parcial de la nutria (Lutra lutra) en en centro de España se explica por la inmigración desde las zonas circundantes. La importancia de los movimientos migratorios para la distribución de la nutria, las barreras físicas (montañas) y la presencia humana (ciudades) pueden ser factores decisivos que limitan sus movimientos.
