Description of the methodology employed in the survey of vertebrate mortality by roads in peninsular Spain, Canary Islands and Baleary Islands until july 1992. N= 41955 carcasses found. 35.81% birds, 33.64% mammals, 23.76% amphibians, 6.44% reptiles. If divided by the number of species for each class, amphibians appears to be the most affected, followed by mammals, reptiles and birds. Although many vertebrate species were recorded, Bufo bufo was the most frequently killed species, followed by Felis catus, Passer domesticus, Rattus spp., Canis familiaris and Erinaceus europaeus.

Una descripción de la metodología aplicada en la prospección de la mortalidad de vertebrados en carreteras de la península Ibérica, lslas Canarias y Baleares hasta julio de 1992. N=41.955 cadaveres encontrados. 35,81% aves, 33,64% mamíferos, 23,76% anfibios, 6,44% reptiles. Si se divide por el número de especies en cada clase parece que los anfibios serían los más afectados, seguidos por los mamíferos, reptiles y aves. Aunque se han registrado muchas especies de vertebrados, Bufo bufo fue la especie atropellada con mayor frecuencia, seguida por Felis catus, Passer domesticus, Rattus spp., Canis familiaris y Erinaceus europaeus.
