Threatened vascular flora of Sierra Nevada (Southern Spain).

Threatened flora of Sierra Nevada (2100 vascular taxa -species and subspecies- catalogued, which means 30% of the entire vascular flora of Iberian Peninsula) has been studied. Habitat, status, corology and threats of 116 taxa were examined. Among threats, they cited infrastructure, construction and gravel quarrying. Threatened flora was catalogued by: a) geographical distribution (W= wide, N= narrow), b) habitat specificity (B= broad, R= restricted), c) local population size (L= somewhere large, S= everywhere small). Threats: 1= natural causes, 2= overgrazing, 3= fire, 4= collecting, 5= deforestation-tree falling-inappropriate forestry practices, 6= introduction of exotic species-foreign genetic material, 7= farming, changes in agricultural practices, 8= wetland, desiccation, water pollution, 9= refuse contamination, 10= recreational activity, 11= infrastructure, construction, gravel quarrying.

Se ha estudiado la flora amenazada de Sierra Nevada (2.100 de taxones vasculares -especies y subespecies- catalogadas, que representan el 30% de toda la flora vascular de la Península Ibérica). Se examinó el hábitat, estado, corología y amenazas de 116 taxones. Entre las amenazas, citaron las infraestructuras, la construcción y las graveras. Se ha catalogado la flora amenazada por: a) distribución geográfica (A=amplia, E=estrecha), b) especificidad de hábitat (E=extensa, R=restringida), c) tamaño de población local (G=grande en algunos lugares, P=pequeño en todos los lugares). Amenazas: 1=causas naturales, 2=sobrepastoreo, 3=incendios, 4=recolección, 5=deforestación, prácticas silvícolas inadecuadas, 6=introducción de especies exóticas, material genético foráneo, 7=la agricultura, cambios en las prácticas agrícolas, 8=marismas, desecacción, contaminación de las aguas, 9=contaminación por residuos, 10=actividades recreativas, 11=infraestructruas, construcción, graveras.
